Radi-Aid Analysis
Radi-Aid is a satirical advert that was created to parody the charity adverts that are created to gain donations in support of problems in Africa such as famine and poverty. In western media, Africa is portrayed as being poor and the people living there are shown almost exclusively as being poor and starving. Radi-Aid is an advert that was created by Africans supposedly to encourage other Africans to donate their heaters to Norwegians, by doing this, Radi-Aid flips the stereotype on its head and Norwegian people become the helpless victims, placing Africans in a position of power to 'save' and provide help. This could be referred to as reverse post-colonialism.
